Glenn Dieball
Enterprise Platform & Automation Engineer
Enterprise Platform & Automation Engineer with 16+ years of experience designing, modernizing, and operating high-scale platforms where reliability, governance, and execution matter.
About
I specialize in enterprise platform engineering, enterprise content management, automation, and infrastructure modernization. My work has centered on high-availability content and workflow platforms in regulated environments, with deep experience designing and operating systems at meaningful scale.
At MGIC, I help lead enterprise platform engineering across multiple environments supporting more than 1,400 users and repositories exceeding hundreds of millions of documents. My focus has been cloud-forward architecture, automation-first delivery, operational reliability, security, and reducing complexity in systems that cannot afford failure.
One of my most impactful initiatives was engineering a custom PowerShell REST framework to enable a large-scale OpenText to Alfresco migration while preserving metadata, security models, and business continuity. That work removed major consulting dependency and delivered more than $200,000 in savings.
I bring a strong foundation in systems thinking, operational discipline, and stakeholder communication, shaped through progressive leadership roles across technical, operational, and customer-facing environments. I am also a lifelong learner with an active interest in AI, agent-based workflows, cloud-native engineering, and the practical use of automation to improve real enterprise operations.

Progressed from Intern to Technical Lead
Enterprise Content Management
Enterprise content management has been a major part of my career. My experience goes far beyond basic administration—I have designed, implemented, migrated, integrated, secured, and supported OpenText platforms that served as core systems of record in highly regulated enterprise environments.
Hands-on experience across a broad OpenText ecosystem including Extended ECM, Content Server, Archive Server, OpenText Directory Services (OTDS), WebReports, Workflow, Records Management, Smart UI, Brava, Blazon, Capture Center, Enterprise Scan, Vendor Invoice Management, Extended ECM for SAP, and Extended ECM for SuccessFactors.
The OpenText platforms I supported were business-critical systems tied directly to compliance, operations, engineering content, HR records, and enterprise workflows. This work required not only technical depth, but judgment around reliability, governance, and long-term supportability.
Capabilities
AWS EC2, RDS, S3, Route53, network controls, security groups, CIDR management, and certificate lifecycle administration with OpenSSL.
PowerShell, REST APIs, SQL, JSON, XML, workflow automation, system telemetry, and custom integration frameworks.
Alfresco, OpenText Content Server, Capture Center, Archive Server, Records Management, Extended ECM, Vendor Invoice Management, and TRUE Data Intelligence.
Docker, containerized build workflows, GitLab, Git, CI/CD pipeline enablement, and legacy-to-modern repository migration.

Independent Engineering
Outside of work, I build modern cloud applications and automation workflows to stay close to current tooling and engineering practice. This work is less about launching a specific product and more about sharpening architecture judgment, delivery discipline, observability, AI workflow design, and the habits that translate directly into enterprise environments.
Working with Node.js, Express, and Docker continues to deepen my understanding of service boundaries, deployment packaging, environment design, and how modern applications move from development to production.
Using Terraform to provision databases and object storage has strengthened my approach to repeatable infrastructure, environment consistency, and treating infrastructure changes with the same rigor as software.
Building GitHub Actions pipelines has sharpened my thinking around reducing manual deployment work, improving release confidence, and establishing cleaner delivery paths for containerized services.
Implementing structured logging, correlation IDs, and telemetry pipelines has helped me better connect system behavior to operational visibility, root cause analysis, and long-term supportability.
Exploring AI tooling and agent-driven automation is helping me understand where intelligent workflows create practical enterprise value, where guardrails matter, and how to apply these tools without unnecessary hype.
Across all of this work, I continue refining how I think about validation, schema control, secure configuration, maintainability, and the tradeoffs that separate experiments from production-grade systems.
Foundation
Before enterprise engineering, I built professional discipline in roles centered on operations, accountability, customer communication, and leadership. Those experiences continue to influence how I approach ownership, execution, and decision-making.
